At Torch + Timber Firekeepers, the word Firekeepers reflects our deep respect for fire as a natural tool for restoring balance to the land. In our work, we “keep” fire in the sense of stewarding it carefully —using prescribed fire to promote healthy forests, safer communities, and thriving ecosystems. We recognize that in some Native American traditions, “firekeeper” is a sacred role. Our use of the name does not claim or borrow from those traditions. Instead, it speaks to our mission as prescribed fire professionals: to tend, guide, and safeguard fire as a force for renewal. For us, being Firekeepers means standing between the flame and the forest —ensuring fire serves the land and the people, with purpose and respect.
